Calicut University UG Admissions 2019-20

Calicut University gives admission to all deserving for the academic session 2019-20. Applicants have to qualify the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) which is taken by the University of Calicut. Calicut university provides admission in various UG programmes with Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. Candidates can apply online for Calicut University UG Admissions 2019-20.

Students who belong to different territories like Kashmir, Lakshadweep etc. can get separate seat allocation under the Calicut university scheme. After qualifying CAP, Applicants can fill online application form to get admission in various courses and programmes under different colleges. Almost 50% seats are reserved for the CAP qualified candidates to get admission in Self Financing Colleges only.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech/B.Sc/BCA and Other Undergraduate Courses and Programmes

There are some eligibility criteria has been set to take admission in Calicut University. The candidate has to be eligible as per eligibility criteria to get the admission for particular courses and programmes. Different UG courses of Calicut University has different eligibility criteria which are as follows:

  • Applicants who have completed their 12th from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or qualified any other equivalent examination from a recognized board with Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects and secured minimum 45% are eligible for admission in B.Tech/B.Sc/BCA Courses.
  • Applicants who have completed their 12th from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination with Mathematics or Statistics subjects are eligible for admission in other Calicut University UG Admission Courses.
  • Candidates who have completed their 12th from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or qualified any other equivalent examination from a recognized board with Chemistry & Biology subjects are eligible for admission in B.Sc and other Calicut University UG Admission Courses.
  • Applicants who have completed their 12th from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or qualified any other equivalent examination from a recognized board with Science subjects are eligible for admission in B.Tech/B.Sc/BCA Courses.
  • Students who have completed their 12th from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or qualified any other equivalent examination from a recognized board with Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or Computer Application subjects are eligible for admission in B.Sc/BCA and other Calicut University UG Admission Courses.
  • Applicants who have completed their 12th from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or qualified any other equivalent examination from a recognized board with Electronics, Physics, Mathematics subjects are eligible for admission in B.Sc/BCA and other Calicut University UG Admission Courses.
  • Students who have completed their 12th from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or qualified any other equivalent examination from a recognized board with any two science subjects are eligible for admission in B.Sc/BCA and other UG Courses.
  • Applicants who have completed their 12th from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or qualified any other equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry & any branch of Life Science are eligible for admission in B.tech/B.Sc/BCA and other Calicut University UG Admissions Courses.
  • Those students who have passed their 12th with Geology can get admission in B. Sc Geology and also those students who have studied Science subjects in 12th and taught Geology as a subject are eligible for admission.
  • Candidates who have completed their 12th from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or qualified any other equivalent examination from a recognized board with Mathematics subject and scored minimum 50 % marks are eligible for admission in B.Sc and other UG Courses. For OBC/OEC Candidates, 5% concession in the marks will be given.
  • Candidates who have passed their 12th with at least one commerce subject from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or qualified any other equivalent examination from a recognized board are eligible to apply in B.com.
  • Students who belong to OBC/OEC Category can get concession of 3 GPV and SC/ST candidates should score only passing marks.
  • Students who have completed their 12th from Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or qualified any other equivalent examination from a recognized board with Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Application or Information Practices subjects are eligible for admission in B.Sc/BCA and other UG Courses.

Age Limit:- Candidate should be 17 years old as on December 31, 2019 (tentative) for B. Tech & 25 years old for Lateral Entry or Diploma Holders.

Educational Qualifications for Science and Technology courses

  • Students must pass their 10+2 or 12th from the board of Kerala state or passed any other equivalent examinations from recognized Board or university with 50% marks obtained in Mathematics/Biology Subjects & 50% marks obtained from the combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Subjects marks.
  • For NRI students, 50% marks obtained in mathematics individually and also 50% marks obtained from the combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Subjects marks are compulsory. It is only valid for those students who are selected on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination. And 60% marks are mandatory for Diploma Holders in the final examination.
  • Students who belong to SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) Category and also their annual family income is below from Rs.4.5 lakhs will get relaxation of 5% marks that is 45% marks obtained from the combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Subjects.
  • SC/ST Category candidate should have to score only passing marks which are 33%.
  • Students who have completed their Pre-Degree Examination from outside the Kerala state should have to submit the certificate of recognition and equivalency of qualification at the admission time.
  • Candidates who qualify their 12th in the compartmental examination cannot apply or eligible to get admission in the same year.
  • For getting admission as a lateral entry, Candidates have to qualify Diploma in Engineering course of 3 years from a recognized university or affiliated college and institutes. Candidates should also have to score at least 60% marks in Diploma Certification.
  • Diploma Holders can get admission in their respective stream from which they have completed their Diploma.
