Calicut University Distance PG Admissions 2020-21: Eligibility, Application & Selection Process

The University of Calicut is located in Malappuram, Kerala which is the largest university in Kerala state. It is the second university which is set up by Government plan bifurcating Kerala University in Kerala. Calicut University Distance PG Admission Application & Selection Process. Four Departments of post-graduation will be separated from the University of Kerala in Calicut and adjoined to a new university named as Calicut university which includes 54 constituent colleges. Calicut University has 30 postgraduate departments and 373 affiliated colleges.

However, Calicut University also offers 29 Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses through distance learning mode. School of Distance education at Calicut University was established in 1981 and its most famous distance education providing university in Kerala. More than 60,000 students are enrolled every year who belongs to Gulf countries.

School of Distance education at Calicut University offers 16 undergraduate courses and  13 postgraduate courses. Calicut University School of Distance education provides 11 postgraduate courses in arts, 1 master degree program in commerce and 1 postgraduate course in Science. Eligibility Criteria for Distance PG Admissions

Calicut University offers various Distance PG courses like Master of Arts [MA], Master of Science [M.Sc], Master of Commerce [M.Com] in different streams and disciplines.

MA {Master of Arts}

A candidate who wants to join Calicut University must have a bachelor degree in related discipline from Calicut University or any other university which is recognized by UGC or AICTE and secure at least 45% marks in their graduation. These candidates are eligible to take admission in below listed MA course’s streams and Disciplines and other Calicut University Distance PG Admission:

Duration of Master of Arts (MA) is 2 Years that is 4 Semester.

M.Sc {Master of Science}

Students who have completed their graduation in related discipline and have a bachelor degree from Calicut University or any other university which is recognized by UGC or AICTE and secure at least 45% marks in their graduation are eligible to take admission in M.Sc course and other Calicut University Distance PG Admission Courses.

Duration of Master of Science (M.Sc) is 2 Years that is 4 Semester. Calicut University School of Distance education offers M.Sc course in different streams or disciplines which are listed below:

  • Algebraic Number Theory
  • Fluid Dynamics
  • Operation Research

M.Com {Master of Commerce}

Applicant must have a bachelor degree in related discipline from Calicut University or any other university which is recognized by UGC or AICTE and secure at least 45% marks in their graduation can apply for M.Com course and other Calicut University Distance PG Admission Courses.

Duration of M.Com (Master of Commerce) is 4 Semester that is 2 Years. Interested candidates can join the Master of Commerce (M.Com) course in various streams or disciplines which we have mentioned below:

How to Register for Calicut University Distance PG Courses

  • Visit CU School of Distance Education website.
  • Firstly, Click on Online Registration.
  • Then, Click on SDE PG Admission 2019.
  • Click on Signup option.
  • Enter your Name, Aadhar No., Email id, Mobile No. and click on Submit.
  • Now you will receive an OTP on your mobile no.
  • Enter the OTP and click on submit.

Steps to Apply for Calicut University Distance PG Courses

Candidates can follow these steps to fill the online application form:

  • After Registration, Enter Aadhar no. and Email Id
  • Click on Login.
  • Now, Fill all the necessary details carefully and
  • Click on Save and Proceed to Next Page.
  • The application fee can be submitted by Web Payment,  via e-challan (SBI).
  • Upload all the necessary documents.
  • Take the printout of the application.

Submit Application Form to Calicut University School of Distance Learning

After submission of an online application form, candidates have to take the print out the filled application form. Applicants have to send the printout of application with attested photo & all the necessary documents to:

Main Documents Attached for Submit Application Form:

During submission of the Application form to the head office of Calicut University School of Distance education, Applicants have to attach some important documents with the application form. These documents will be mandatory to get admission in post-graduation distance courses of Calicut University. We take a document which is important to fill the application:

  • The Original Challan receipt for the required fee.
  • Original Transfer Certificate.
  • Original Qualifying examinations mark sheet and certificates and their self-attested copies.
  • Domicile certificate, Income certificate and Caste certificate (if belongs to SC/ST/OBC/OEC category).
  • BPL candidates have to attach a necessary certificate from the concerned authority.
  • Relaxation Certificate from the concerned authority in minimum marks(if candidate are teachers, Govt. employees, University employees etc.)
  • Date of Birth proof as Attested copy of matriculation or SSLC mark sheet.
  • A Self-addressed stamped envelope ( INR 32/-) of size 30×25 cms. to return the original certificates if they did not get admission.
  • 3 self-addressed stamped ( 5/-) envelops (12 x 5 inches)
  • INR 50 Spot Admission fee, if candidates are taking admission through spot admission

  • MA (Eng., Hindi, Eco., Pol., Sociology, M.Sc. (Mathematics):- INR 2000/-
  • MA (Philosophy, Tamil, Sanskrit):-  INR 525/- ( 500 for the second year)
  • M.Com, MA (Arabic, Malayalam, History):-  INR 2500/-

Matriculation Fee (Candidates who are taking admission first time at Calicut University.):- Rs.100/-
Re-matriculation fee (Candidates who have migrated from Calicut University to other Universities):- Rs.150/-
Recognition fee (Candidates who have Completed his 12th from other states Boards or Universities):- Rs. 100/-
Fine (as Service charge from defaulting candidates):- Rs. 100/-
